The Dr. Marc Method, is a evidence-based, but practical, nutrition coaching program.

Upon entering the program you'll be given all the tools to work with clients RIGHT AWAY - gain confidence in the coaching process and start to make money and impact the people you serve right away.
By the end of the program you will be a confident nutrition coach with a developed coaching business and experience working with actual clients.

Program Outline

Each week you'll watch a lecture on your own time and then we discuss in a weekly live Zoom seminar (3-5 hour total commitment per week)

Week 1: Introduction to Nutrition and Energy Intake, Digestion/Metabolism

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. List components of energy intake and expenditure
  2. Describe what matters most most and least between nutrition and body composition

Week 2: Macronutrients and Alcohol

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. List importance of each macronutrient
  2. Evaluate macronutrient and calorie intake and discuss implications for body composition and athletic performance. 

Week 3: Micronutrients and Hydration

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Differentiate between micronutrients and strategize methods for clients to avoid micronutrient deficiencies
  2. Discuss considerations around workout and competition nutrition, fluid intake and supplementation
  3. Develop a dietary plan including fruits and vegetables, water and supplement intake considering calorie and macronutrient intake 

Week 4: Nutritional Assessment

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. List variables and information collected in the client intake process
  2. Describe the benefits and drawbacks of different forms of dieting
  3. Develop a client intake process and formulate a flexible plan and overall structure for a client

Week 5: Bridging the Gap between quantity and quality with Dallas Odgers RD

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate food logs for meal balance
  2. Provide practical advice to clients to improve meal balance and meet macronutrient and micronutrient targets
  3. Create resources for clients that influence and improve food choices

Week 6: Business Development

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify effective writing in captions and content 
  2. Develop a mission statement and learn how to attract and speak to your ideal client. 

Week 7: Client Fulfillment

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the role of the client in this process. 
  2. Identify what variables to gather in client correspondence and how to use them
  3. Develop a client check-in protocol

Week 8: Business Systems, Adherence and Results

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss best practices for determining client correspondence and price
  2. Practice the client check-in process, with both written and verbal responses
  3. Hypothesize barriers to client adherence and generate solutions to them.

Week 9: Dietary Deviations

Key Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss why clients shouldn’t track their food intake forever. 

2. List aspect of mindful eating practice

3. Compare and contrast the use of different deviation strategies like refeeds, flex days and off days.

Week 10: Frequently Asked Questions

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss what makes a question from a client important.
  2. Develop a system to effectively answer clients and build a bank of frequently asked questions and answers.

Week 11: Goal setting and timelines

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss what makes an appropriate goal.

  2. Strategize how to use goals to make progress.

Week 12: Troubleshooting and Wrapping up

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Distinguish between “nice to know” and “need to do".

  2. Create systems to attract, organize and fulfill clients.

  3. Visualize the coaching process from start to finish.

Dr. Marc Morris PhD (Nutrition), CSCS 

Dr. Marc is a nutrition coach and educator living in Saskatoon, SK, Canada with a decade of experience in online coaching. Marc has been obsessed with health and fitness since a teenager taking him many places - from competing and coaching at the powerlifting world championships, to teaching nutrition at the university level.
